CLASS SCHEDULE
All classes at Core Fitness Studios are held in a semi-private group setting to ensure clients receive the attention they deserve.

~POWER SPIN  (all fitness levels)
Spinning class, a group exercise class led by a certified instructor, is a high-intensity workout perfect for beginning cyclists and elite athletes. SPIN is a face-paced workout to high-energy music. A typical spinning class lasts an hour and includes warm-up and cool down stretching. Spinning bikes simulate outdoor cycling, using a lever that applies resistance to the fly wheel. Resistance applied to the fly wheel creates the feeling of climbing a hill or sprinting on flat or downhill terrain.

Spinning offers participants a way to maintain or lose weight, stay in shape and promote lean muscle development in the lower body and core. Because spinning offers a high-intensity workout, beginning and advanced riders can burn up to 800 calories in a 60-minute class. Spinning class develops stronger muscles without adding bulk.
All of our instructors are officially certified through Mad Dogg Athletics and Johnny G (the creator of SPIN). Instructors use pacing and sequencing to produce a well-rounded workout for spin cyclists. Two common speeds for spinning are light resistance, to mimic sprinting, and medium to heavy resistance, to imitate hills and steeper topography. Three positions are possible on a spin bike: seated, or first position; standing with your hands at the base of the handlebars, or second position; and standing with your hands extended to the farthest point on the handlebars, or third position. Instructors use a combination of aerobic and anaerobic techniques. Aerobic sequences are longer in duration and include seated sprints and hill climbs, standing hill climbs, jumps and statues; a statue is a standing position that eliminates bounce while peddling and focuses muscular efforts on developing strength and control in the quadriceps. Anaerobic efforts are shorter and include running while standing in second or third position and interval training, or increased revolutions for short periods of time, such as 30 seconds to a minute.

~ZUMBA TONING (all fitness levels)
Zumba combines Latin dancing with interval and resistance training for a full-body, rhythmic workout.  Zumba focuses on creating a party-like workout environment.

Zumba combines traditional Latin dance styles, including salsa, mambo, cha-cha, cumbia and merengue, as well as hip-hop and belly dancing moves, depending on the instructor's preferences. The toning portion of the class will also utilize traditional group fitness moves, such as pushups, bicep curls, crunches and hi-low aerobics combinations, giving you a full body workout. By focusing on interval training, classes seek to burn calories without exhausting participants with a constant high-impact pace.

~TRX FUSION  (all fitness levels)
TRX is a type of training that uses your own body weight and gravity, to build strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, core and joint stability, all while preventing injuries. Some of the advantages of using the TRX system
are that it enables you to minimize your training time by working your whole entire body switching from one
exercise to the next in just seconds.  Every exercise you perform engages your core. Now you may think that your core is just your abdominals, however, it is more than that! Your core includes the pelvis, abs, back and chest muscles. It is this core that offers your body stability, balance and flexibility. Everything you do in your life starts with your core, whether it is bending over to pick up the pen you dropped on the floor, washing your car, playing basketball with your kids, or participating in an Ironman. A strong and stable core is important to help prevent injuries, not just in your low back, but in your entire body. Just think of how developing good core strength and stability will only enhance your performance and way of life!
Another advantage is by using your own body weight and gravity you are able to adjust to your own personal fitness level just by walking yourself closer or further away from the anchoring point. That means you do not have to go grab a different set of dumbbells or add more weight to the machine, you just simply adjust your foot placement.
With the assistance of a TRX certified instructor, you will learn techniques and exercises that will challenge and tranform your body in a multitude of ways.
